Installing a Plantronics Hook Switch Adapter on the NEC SL2100 VoIP Phone

This Tech Tip will demonstrate how to install and program a Plantronics Hook Switch Adapter (ADP80 EHS Cable) on the NEC SL2100 Desi-Less IP Phone.

Cable Connections

1. Plug the Plantronics ADP-80 EHS cable into the Headset port on the back of the NEC SL2100 IP phone.
2. Plug the other end of the ADP-80 EHS cable into the back of your Plantronics wireless headset base station.

Phone Programming

Perform the following steps using the idle NEC SL2100 IP phone:

1. Press the following buttons consecutively: Hold, Transfer, *, #
2. Press the Set soft key.
3. Enter the password: 6633222
4. Press the OK soft key.
5. Press 3 for Maintenance Settings.
6. Press 4 for Adjust.
7. Press 2 for EHS Headset.
8. Select Enable.
9. Press the OK soft key.
10. Press the Exit soft key twice to return to the main programming menu.
11. Press the Save soft key.
12. The phone will reboot automatically.

PCPro Programming Steps

1. Using PCPro, go to Program 15-07: Function Keys.
2. Program a 05 – Headset function key on an available key for the IP phone’s extension.
3. Apply and upload your changes.
