This Tech Tip demonstrates how to change the default IP address of the NEC SL2100 to a custom static IP address, disable DHCP, and make additional adjustments for VoIP connectivity.

This procedure requires access to the NEC SL2100 using the PCPro Programming Software.

IP Address Overview
VoIP connectivity is built in on the NEC SL2100 system.
- The default LAN IP Address is
192.168.0.10 - The default VoIP IP Address is
172.16.0.10
You can connect PCPro or WebPro to either address using the same Ethernet connection on the CPU.
⚠️ Important: If you are connecting IP phones to the system, you must complete these two steps:
- Configure the phones to connect to the VoIP IP Address (default
172.16.0.10) during telephone setup. - Disable the LAN IP Address (
192.168.0.10).
Disabling the LAN Address
- Go to Program 10-12: CPU Network Setup
- Set the value of 10-12-01: IP Address to
0.0.0.0 - Apply and upload this change
Disabling DHCP
- Go to Program 10-63: DHCP Client Setting
- Uncheck 10-63-01: DHCP Client Mode
- Apply and upload this change
Changing the VoIP IP Address
Note: Before proceeding, consult with your network administrator to determine the appropriate static IP address settings.
- Go to Program 10-12: CPU Network Setup
- Set 10-12-09: VOIP IP Address to your static IP address
- Set 10-12-10: VOIP Subnet Mask to your subnet mask
- Set 10-12-03: Default Gateway to your default gateway
- Apply and upload these changes
We recommend performing a system reset at this point.
Additional Changes Required When Using the VoIP Daughterboard
When the NEC SL2100 has a VoIP Daughterboard installed, move the Ethernet cable from the Ethernet jack to the VoIP jack.
Note: When adding the VoIP Daughterboard, additional licensing may be required.
