This Tech Tip demonstrates how to program DSX T1 DID translation tables to ring a station directly.
Get Connected
This Tech Tip requires access to the phone system using NEC DSX System Administrator Software. To download the latest version of the DSX System Administrator or for instructions on how to connect your computer to the phone system, please read the following: How to Connect to the NEC DSX Phone System for Programming.
Example Overview
Call comes in via personal DID day or night, rings personal station, if not answered goes to personal mailbox and plays personal greeting, then takes a message, then lights the message waiting lamp on desk station.
Programming Steps
1. Lines > DID
Here’s an explanation of the columns in the DSX T1 DID translation table:
- Configuration [3301] Number of DID Digits: Number of DID digits being sent by the carrier (in this example it’s 4)
- Translations [3302] DID Entry: The DID digits being sent by the carrier (in this example it’s 1003)
- Translations [3302] Day Translation: The personal station number (in this example it’s 303)
- Translations [3302] Night Translation: The personal station number (in this example it’s 303)
- Translations [3302] DID Name: The DID/station name or description
2. System > System Numbering
- Go to the Stations Tab / Assignments [1311] Menu.
- In the System Numbering Table, find the extension that you just created in the DID Translation Table – in this example it’s 303 – and name it accordingly.
