How to Toll Restrict an Extension to Incoming Calls Only

This Tech Tip demonstrates how to restrict outbound calling from a specific extension on the NEC DSX phone system.

This Tech Tip requires access to the phone system using NEC DSX System Administrator Software. To download the latest version of the DSX System Administrator or for instructions on how to connect your computer to the phone system, please read the following: How to Connect to the NEC DSX Phone System for Programming.

Programming Steps

Fully connect to your phone system with NEC DSX PC System Administrator and retrieve all program settings

Note: Our Default Toll Restriction Settings have Toll Restriction Level [7] already programmed for NO Out Bound Calling. If you purchased your Phone System from us, SKIP NOW to Step 21

From the left hand navigation titled [Lines] click [Toll Restriction]

You are now on the [Options] Tab

Make your page look identical to the page below

Now Click on the [1010+XXX] Tab

Here we are telling the system Allow everything in the 96 Dial Codes field, since there is nothing in the fields it will allow nothing within this dial pattern

Now Click on the [1+XXX] Tab

Now Click on the [1+XXXXXX] Tab

From the left hand navigation titled [Stations] click [Config]

You are now on the [Setup] Tab

Using the left and right arrows at the top middle of the page, go to the Extension you want to toll restrict (our example is Ext 302)

In program Access [2102] set Day Toll Level to [7] and Night Toll Level to [7]

Now Click on the Green Arrow pointing up (Apply) Icon to apply all program changes

Congratulations your phone is Toll Restricted  to Incoming Calls Only (No Outbound Calling)
